Experience

• I have helped many couples develop good separation plans and make good decisions about dividing their property before one person moved out of the marital home.
• I have helped many ex-couples negotiate successfully about parenting plans.
• In my roles as a parent, step-parent, foster parent, friend, counselor, and mediator, I have become very well acquainted with the emotional, financial, and legal aspects of family distress followed by separation and divorce.
• I have completed the training and apprenticeship program developed by the Supreme Court of Virginia and earned certificates to mediate family cases referred from Circuit Courts and from Juvenile and Domestic Courts. I have also been certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia as a Mentor Mediator.
• I have helped hundreds of ex-couples make decisions and settle the terms of their divorces outside of court and at low costs.

Honors

I have been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in helping estranged parents give good care to their children.

I was a founding member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators (APFM). I became a member of its Board of Directors on January 1, 2015. In 2018, I served as President of APFM.
